The American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) analyzes products to provide architects with benchmarks for quality in selecting the right materials for new construction and renovation projects. 

The AAMA 2604 performance specification for organic coatings on architectural aluminum extrusions and panels ensures that these products are high-performance. 

PPG DURASTAR® Ultra-durable polyester aluminum extrusion spray coatings

Durastar coatings pass AAMA 2604 standards for corrosion resistance, color fastness and durability to high-end, aluminum-extrusion building products and components, including those used in high-traffic areas. The coatings deliver exceptional hardness, scratch resistance and mar resistance in one coat or can be applied over primer to provide enhanced performance in seacoast environments. The result is exceptional substrate protection at a cost that is competitive with AAMA 2603-level coatings.


PPG ACRYNAR®  50% PVDF Extrusion Coatings

Acrynar durable fluoropolymer spray coatings represent a new level of performance for architectural applications. This 2-coat system has proven, painter-friendly application properties and its proprietary resin technology and formulation produces hard, smooth finishes. 

Acrynar coatings’ combination of long-term durability, exceptional mar resistance and excellent weatherability make them ideal for high-traffic areas such as storefronts, schools, hospitals and high-rise condominiums. (Acrynar acrylic coatings meet the AAMA 2604 specification and are not a replacement for DURANAR® fluoropolymer coatings, which meet the AAMA 2605 specification.)


PPG ENVIROCRON® 04 Ultradurable Polyester Extrusion Powder Coatings

Envirocron 04 ultradurable extrusion powder coatings are engineered for excellent exterior color and gloss retention for window and door frames, fencing and other light commercial applications. With virtually no volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions, these coatings provide excellent and environmentally friendly chemical, corrosion and humidity resistance, and meet AAMA 2604 performance specifications.
